lab 2.1 - Installing Jenkins On Linux


1. Install Java Development Kit 11. Do it on master node

sudo apt search openjdk
sudo apt install openjdk-11-jdk
java -version

2. Install Jenkins Server

wget -q -O - https://pkg.jenkins.io/debian-stable/jenkins.io.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo sh -c 'echo deb https://pkg.jenkins.io/debian-stable binary/ > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/jenkins.list'
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install jenkins -y

3. Retrive Jenkins initialAdminPassword

sudo cat /var/lib/jenkins/secrets/initialAdminPassword

4. Access Jenkins dashboard http://[podX-node]:8080

Paste the Jenkins initialAdminPassword

Install suggested plugins

5. Create First Admin User

Username: 
Password:
Confirm password:
Full name:
E-mail address: 

Save and Continue

6. Instance Configuration
Jenkins URL:

Save and Finish > Start Using Jenkins
